Patience - A Poem

Updated: Mar 27

I feel it, at the end of the line

Straining, running with the reel

Tugging against the flow,

Sunlight sparkling, breaking the surface.

Patience.

I feel it, overlapping notes on strings.

Tones, melodies, cascading through moments

A waterfall of nudges

Alight my ear, tickling my soul.

Patience.

I feel it, fingertips reaching mine.

Sighing, yearning through the fog.

Energy screaming “alive”

Breath heavy, steadying gaze to my eyes.

Patience.

I feel it, life’s knowing waits close by.

Urging, pausing, pushing against fear.

Metronome of endless raindrops.

A pendulum swings, tipping my balance.

Patience.
